Our Deepest Fear – Nelson Mandela Quote

I Love this quote, and I really admire the man who said it.  In my life I have really struggled to learn this principle. I am still learning, but I am getting better at it. Don’t be afraid to shine. Your success only encourages others to find success of their own. It is scary to put yourself out there and try something new or different. But if it is something that you love, or that you believe in, you have nothing to lose. But if you don’t try then you will only find regret. Today try to be less hard on yourself and Dream Big. But don’t just Dream, Work to Make it happen. We are so much more powerful than we give ourselves credit for.

  1. That’s a nice quote, but the author is not Mandela.

It is indeed widely attributed on the Internet to Mandela, usually to his 1994 inaugural address:

As you can see, it was not used in his inaugural address. Nor does it appear in any
other of his speeches archived on the same ANC web site.

As it turns out, the author is Marianne Williamson, from her 1992 book, “Return to Love”
    (hardcover p. 165, paperback pp. 190-191).

  2. i can admire the woman who speaks and lives those word. Marianne Williamson. Thank you Mr. Mandela for recognizing their power and using them in your speech.

  3. If it wasn’t for Mandela making this quote famous i never would have heard of it and been able to appreciate the worth behind Marianne Williamson’s every word.
😄 I always just thought kick ass and let them be jealous but this is a beautiful work of art.
    Thank you.
